About this role
United Learning
Thank you for your interest in working at The John Roan School. We are a large mixed secondary school which joined the United Learning group of schools in September 2019 and, supported by the expertise and guidance that has brought us, are rapidly improving outcomes for students. Ofsted graded us as a ‘Good’ school in October 2023 and as we continue our school improvement programme, we are looking for people who share our values and passionately believe that all children can achieve, no matter what their starting point, background or needs.
The Role
We are seeking a skilled and ambitious colleague who embodies our values and is ready to play a key role in shaping the future of MFL at The John Roan School. As a middle leader, you will lead the curriculum from Year 7 to Year 13, ensuring it is coherent, expertly taught and enriched with high-quality resources. You will inspire colleagues, nurture subject pedagogy and enhance subject knowledge through coaching, mentoring and modelling best practice. Your leadership will strengthen our culture of excellence, high expectations and continual improvement, helping students achieve exceptional outcomes.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. References will automatically be requested for all shortlisted applicants prior to interview. The successful applicant will be required to be DBS and safeguarding checks prior to taking up post.
