Head of Design and Technology (Maternity Cover)

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and further develop our Design and Technology Department at a pivotal stage, as the curriculum is being relaunched and refined. Design and Technology is a highly valued and popular subject within our rapidly improving school, and this role offers the opportunity to shape its future direction and impact. The department is well-resourced and delivers a broad and engaging curriculum at Key Stage 3, including Product Design, Textiles and Food Technology. At Key Stage 4, we currently offer GCSE Design and Technology alongside a Hospitality course. We are seeking a specialist with the expertise and vision to strengthen and expand our Product Design provision. At The Bluecoat School, every lesson counts. Lessons are ambitious, inclusive and focused on securing strong progress, so the successful candidate will be committed to continually developing pedagogy and driving excellence in classroom practice. We are seeking an inspiring and strategic leader to take full responsibility for the Design and Technology Department. The successful candidate will have a specialism in Design and Technology, ideally Product Design, and will be able to lead effectively, develop curriculum innovation, and secure consistently high outcomes for students.
