About this role
Key responsibilities and duties:
Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Design & Technology (Lower and/or Upper Secondary) in alignment with the school’s curriculum framework (e.g. Cambridge IGCSE, national curriculum, or equivalent).
Teach core DT areas such as product design, resistant materials, systems & control, engineering concepts, and design processes.
Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments that promote creativity, critical thinking, and practical application.
Foster a student-centered, project-based, and inquiry-driven learning environment.
Guide students through the design cycle: research, ideation, prototyping, testing, evaluation, and refinement.
Ensure safe use of tools, equipment, materials, and workshop facilities in accordance with health and safety standards.
Integrate CAD/CAM, digital design tools, and emerging technologies where appropriate.
Monitor and assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum coherence, share best practices, and support interdisciplinary STEM learning.
Maintain accurate records of student performance, prepare progress reports, and communicate proactively with parents and guardians.
Promote a positive classroom culture that supports creativity, responsibility, collaboration, and academic excellence.
Participate actively in school events, co-curricular activities, exhibitions, competitions, and professional development programs.
