As a Gap Year Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting both pupils and staff across the school, helping to ensure that every day runs smoothly and that our children thrive both inside and outside the classroom. From supporting learning in the classroom and supervising pupils in the playground to assisting with school events, educational visits and administrative tasks, this is a varied role that offers invaluable experience for anyone considering a future career in education, childcare, psychology or a related profession. Key Responsibilities Supporting the School Community Assisting with the safe movement of pupils around the school, including road crossings and transitions between buildings. Supervising pupils during break times, lunch, playground sessions and after-school activities. Supporting educational visits, extracurricular activities, performances, sports events and wider school initiatives. Assisting staff with the preparation of resources, photocopying and administrative tasks. Attending and supporting occasional school events outside normal school hours. Supporting Teaching and Learning Working alongside teachers to support learning within the classroom. Assisting with whole-class activities, small group work and individual pupil support.
