Introduction
For some young people, English can feel like the subject that has always got in the way.
Maybe they've struggled with reading and writing. Maybe they've lost confidence after years of finding lessons difficult. Maybe they've started to believe they're simply "not academic". At New Meaning Training Berkshire, Functional Skills English isn't about revisiting those experiences. It's about helping young people develop practical communication, literacy and confidence in a way that feels achievable and relevant.
We're looking for a Functional Skills English Tutor to join our Berkshire team. You'll deliver Functional Skills English from Entry Level 3 through to Level 2, helping learners develop the skills they need for everyday life, employment and future learning.
Many of the young people we support have SEND and/or SEMH needs. They often benefit from a learning environment that is calm, structured and responsive to individual needs. We're looking for somebody who can deliver high-quality teaching whilst building the positive relationships that help young people engage and succeed. If you're passionate about English, confident in your teaching practice and committed to helping young people realise what they're capable of, we'd love to hear from you.
