Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching 20 hours per week (each teaching hour = 45mins)
Teaching preparation and regular lesson planning meetings
Assessment duties (standardization, marking, feedback, moderation activities)
Participation in teaching seminars and professional development training
Coordination and administrative work (course coordination, materials proofreading, student enrolment support, supplementary classes for students with additional support)
Other duties assigned by the line manager
Requirements
Essential
Undergraduate degree or above (English language/Applied Linguistics/Education or related fields preferred)
A TESOL qualification (TeflI status:): Cambridge CELTA, Trinity Cert TESOL (or equivalent, which includes assessed teaching practice)
Ideally a minimum of 2 years’ relevant teaching experience, preferably in an EAP context
Organizational, communication and inter-personal skills, ability to work under pressure, ability to lead and work well in teams
Ability to use ICT effectively, including use of a virtual learning environment (e.g. Moodle)
Applicants must meet the visa requirements set by the Chinese authorities for English teaching positions.
Desirable
TeflQ status: Cambridge DELTA, Trinity Dip TESOL (or equivalent) and/or relevant Masters (e.g. ELT/ TESOL/Applied Linguistics/ TEAP Qualification).
Experience of teaching EAP for engineering/STEM undergraduates
Job Salary & Benefits
Successful candidates will be offered a total annual package of 300,000 RMB on average, and the exact package will be tailored to their professional and academic qualifications and work experience.
