Welcome to The New School Rome: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding Politics and Economics A Level teacher to join our uniquely democratic, highly collaborative and very successful small school set in a beautiful garden in Rome. The New School Rome is an independent, private, international, not-for-profit school for pupils aged 3‑18 offering the English National Curriculum. We have provided outstanding education to expatriate and internationally minded families for over 50 years. Our most recent examination results place the school as one of the top performing independent international schools in Italy: 50% A*- A at both GCSE and A Level. We are seeking to recruit a colleague with excellent subject knowledge at A Level, strong motivation and a proven track record of delivering excellent outcomes for students. Essential Professional Criteria: The New School Rome seeks to appoint teachers who have the following proven qualifications and qualities: A degree in a related subject and a teaching qualification Experience of teaching both Economics and Politics A Level (or related subject) A thorough understanding of effective assessment strategies at all levels. Understanding of the key principles of safeguarding and the welfare of students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A commitment to making lessons enjoyable, stimulating and relevant to all learners. Empathy with students across the age and ability range and the ability to implement a range of teaching strategies to cater for each individual student. The ability to encourage students to continue their learning independently and spark an enthusiasm and love for learning by modelling it as a teacher. The depth of knowledge and agility of mind to allow flexibility in lessons, adapting delivery as appropriate in the light of students’ responses.
