About this role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and compassionate Deputy SENDCo to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher with a passion for inclusion and special educational needs to play a key role in strengthening our SEND provision across the school. Working closely with the SENDCo, the successful candidate will provide qualified teaching expertise, lead targeted interventions, support colleagues in delivering inclusive classroom practice, and contribute to the effective coordination of SEND provision. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching and targeted interventions for pupils with SEND across the school. Model inclusive classroom practice and support adaptive teaching approaches. Support early identification of learning needs and contribute to graduated response planning (Wave 1, 2 and 3 provision). Promote independence and reduce over-reliance on 1:1 adult support where appropriate. SEND Provision and Intervention Support the planning, delivery and monitoring of SEND interventions to ensure consistency and impact. Contribute to assess–plan–do–review (APDR) cycles and intervention evaluation. Assist with monitoring provision maps, pupil progress and evidencing outcomes. Support EHCP implementation, review preparation and coordination as directed by the SENDCo. Staff Support and Professional Development Provide coaching and practical support to teachers in meeting a wide range of learning needs. Offer guidance on classroom strategies, reasonable adjustments and behaviour support. Contribute to staff training and the sharing of effective inclusive practice across the school. Parent and External Liaison Support communication and partnership with families of pupils with SEND. Attend meetings with parents and external professionals as appropriate.
