Class Teacher Resource Base (Early Years)

The working hours for this role are expected to be 0.6 FTE. The start date for this role is 01 September 2026. River Mead School is seeking to appoint a positive and forward-thinking Class Teacher Resource Base (Early Years). As a member of staff within our Trust, you will contribute to a collaborative working environment and play a key role in supporting the learning and development of all pupils. The Resource Base Class Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, well-structured lessons that meet the diverse needs of pupils, including those with a range of special educational needs, while creating a stimulating and inclusive learning environment. They design and adapt teaching materials, assess and monitor pupil progress, and lead processes such as EHCP reviews, ensuring all children are supported to achieve positive outcomes. The role requires setting high expectations, implementing effective behaviour management strategies, and promoting pupils’ self-esteem, independence, and positive relationships. The teacher works closely with teaching assistants, colleagues, parents, and external agencies to provide coordinated and holistic support for children. They contribute to the wider life of the school, including curriculum development, enrichment activities, and upholding the school’s ethos and values. Safeguarding, health and safety, and the wellbeing of all pupils are central, alongside maintaining accurate records and following statutory guidance. Additionally, the post holder is expected to engage in ongoing professional development, uphold high standards of professional conduct, and actively contribute to team working and school improvement.
