Working 10am until 2:30pm, including a 30 minute break
£13.28 per hour

This role is based at King Edward VI Community College, a thriving secondary school based in Totnes, South Devon for which we are seeking an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to work as part of a kitchen team.
Reporting to the Chef Manager, responsibilities will include the following, although this is not an exhaustive list and your responsibilities may vary from time to time, but will be commensurate with respect to overall area of responsibility.
What will you be doing
You will be preparing and cooking meals, working on both cold deli and hot food preparation and service, preparing food to a standard set menu.
Your customer centric approach will ensure that the customer experience is excellent, food service and presentation is of a high standard and that all students are catered for and treated with respect.
You will from time to time be serving at the food counter or operating the tills.
You will assist with receiving deliveries from suppliers, checking and stocking the dry and cold stores.
You will assist with record keeping and the maintenance of kitchen records.
Your experience and aptitude
Training and support will be provided but experience of working in a catering role is essential.
You will be an adaptable and flexible person, able to adjust to the varying demands of the day, covering different positions in the kitchen as required.
Your humour and enthusiasm will engender a successful, tight-knit kitchen team, catering for approximately 1000 children.
An advantage, but not essential, is that you have a number of years of experience working within a commercial environment.
