About this role
Responsible to: Executive Chef, Day-to-day duties will be supervised by the Sous Chef.
Responsible for: Assisting Chefs with the daily production and serving of food for sale on the college site all whilst adhering to legal requirements. Ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen is maintained to a high standard and adheres to all college policies and legal requirements.
Purpose: To support the Executive Chef, in offering a first class catering service to both internal and external customers by assisting the Chefs to maintain consistently high food standards and quality across all areas and during all stages of food production, supply and service and be an active member of the kitchen brigade to support the Executive Chef, with maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness to adhere to current food safety legislation.
Barton Peveril is a large, thriving and innovative sixth form college in Hampshire. We have the following vacancy available to join our existing kitchen brigade, with an immediate start date, though we can be flexible with this to allow for notice periods.
The right candidate will ideally have some kitchen experience and hold a Level 2 Food Safety certificate, however we can offer training for this. Under the direction of the Head Chef, accept and check all deliveries for the kitchen. You will be assisting Chefs with the daily production of food for sale on the college site all whilst adhering to legal requirements and ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen is maintained to a high standard and adheres to all college policies and legal requirements.
Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.30am - 2.30pm, term time only (39 weeks) plus an additional 3 days to be worked during the College holidays.
