Contract: Permanent, Part-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm, 37.5 hours per week, 36 weeks of the year
Salary: FTE £28,645 – £32,575 (£22,816 – £25,947 actual salary)
Are you passionate about supporting young people to achieve their future ambitions? Surbiton High School is seeking a dedicated and organised Careers Adviser to join our Careers and Guidance Department and help deliver an outstanding careers programme.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping students’ futures, with a particular focus on the Surbiton Skills Curriculum and Key Stage 3 careers provision. You will work closely with colleagues to provide high-quality careers education, guidance, and support across the School.
What you’ll do:
• Deliver careers guidance interviews to students in Years 9, 11 and 12, providing tailored support and advice
• Support the planning and delivery of the Careers Programme, ensuring alignment with Gatsby Benchmarks and United Learning requirements
• Manage and update careers systems (e.g. Morrisby, iSAMs, CPOMS) and maintain accurate records
• Assist with careers events, trips, and activities, including occasional out-of-hours support
• Provide administrative support for key programmes such as Work Experience, Morrisby testing, and Activity Week
• Maintain and develop the Careers Library and resources, including labour market information
• Support targeted groups of students, including those with SEN or EHCPs
• Contribute to the development of the Key Stage 3 careers provision
What we’re looking for:
• Experience in careers guidance, education, or work experience coordination (desirable)
• A qualification in Careers Guidance (or willingness to work towards one)
• Strong organisational, administrative, and IT skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
• A proactive and collaborative approach to working within a tea
