About this role
We are looking for an inspiring Assistant Headteacher to lead our Primary Department and shape exceptional provision for our autistic pupils from Autumn Term 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for both aspiring leaders stepping into their first leadership role and experienced leaders keen to make a meaningful impact.
You will provide strategic and day-to-day leadership across the Primary phase, ensuring a highly responsive, autism‑informed curriculum that meets the complex and diverse needs of our pupils. We are particularly looking for someone who:
Understands autistic communication, sensory regulation and the importance of building strong practices informed by the SCERTS framework or knowledge of developmental, relational models of practice.
Is reflective, resilient and committed to inclusive, high‑quality practice
Central to the role is creating thoughtful, nurturing transitions into school, so children and families feel safe, supported and able to settle at their own pace.
