About this role
Assistant Head - Community
At Atelier 21, we are not just building a school—we are reimagining what education can be.
We are seeking an exceptional Assistant Head – Community to join our Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in shaping a culture where every learner, family, and colleague feels known, valued, and inspired. This is not a traditional pastoral role; it is an opportunity to lead a relational, values-driven community in a school that places wellbeing, belonging, and meaningful learning at its core.
Rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy and offering the IB Middle Years Programme, Atelier 21 is a place where curiosity is protected, creativity is honoured, and learners are empowered to take ownership of their learning and their relationships. As Assistant Head – Community, you will lead the development of a calm, inclusive, and purposeful school environment—one built on respect, authenticity, and high expectations.
You will champion our Empowerment Approach to behaviour, support learner voice through initiatives such as peer mediation and Ambassador Tribunals, and build strong, trusting partnerships with families. You will also play a key role in safeguarding, enrichment, and the daily life of the school, ensuring that our community runs with clarity, care, and consistency.
We are looking for a leader who:
Believes deeply in relational, inclusive education
Leads with warmth, integrity, and high expectations
Is as comfortable working with families as they are with young people
Thrives in a dynamic, innovative environment where thinking differently is encouraged
In return, you will join a passionate and forward-thinking team committed to doing things differently—and doing them well. This is a rare opportunity to shape not just a role, but a community, within a school that is influencing practice beyond its own walls.
If you are excited by the prospect of leading culture and community in a school designed for the future, we would love to hear f
