About this role
Sherborne Schools Group is seeking a senior finance professional to lead the Group’s purchases and payroll, treasury and governance portfolio, including the purchase-to-pay and payroll cycles, treasury management (including investments, banking and covenants), financial governance and the internal control environment, contract and project governance, business partnering, supplier management, insurance and financial policies and processes. The role leads all areas of cash outflow and governance and has overall ownership of the purchase-to-pay cycle, the payroll cycle and the finance control environment. The postholder will provide robust stewardship, operational leadership and high-calibre governance expertise across the Group and will support the other Assistant Finance Directors on month-end and year-end reporting and on budgeting and planning. While their primary place of work will be Sherborne Boys, the postholder will also be expected to contribute to and support initiatives across the wider Sherborne Schools Group. They will regularly be required to work at other schools or sites within the Group to meet the needs of the business. This role provides an exciting opportunity to play a central part in both the success of the individual schools and the continued development of the Group as a whole.
