About this role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Developer to assist in the maintenance and development of Westminster School’s online systems.
This role offers the opportunity to build on your existing skills in a supportive and collaborative environment. Supervised by the Senior Developer, you will:
Develop and maintain the school’s management information system
Work closely with the Helpdesk Manager to understand and respond to end-user requirements and devise and implement project plans
Develop and maintain internal systems, including Admissions, Visiting Music Teachers’ Billing and Trip Management systems
Design and implement new applications and enhancements that integrate with the school’s existing systems
Collate and maintain technical documentation as required
Provide first- and second-line support to users across the school
Undertake data analysis, produce reports and complete data returns from school systems as required
Support end users through training as required
Maintain key system schedules and deadlines throughout the academic year
Maintain code repositories in GitHub, following appropriate version control and development best practice
The ideal candidate will have experience working as an IT developer, with strong knowledge of technologies including HTML, CSS, SQL, Classic ASP, MS SQL Server, DevOps, Visual Studio and Git/GitHub. You will be organised and adaptable, with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, you will bring a proactive approach to improving systems and processes, alongside a strong commitment to maintaining high technical and security standards.
