Job Title: Art Teacher

Job Overview
The Canadian International School of Guangzhou is seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher to provide engaging visual arts education. The successful candidate will teach Art 1-5 classes integrated within the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) curriculum framework, as well as two classes in the Secondary program. This role is essential for nurturing students' artistic talents and promoting creative expression within a structured learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Instruction
Teach Art 1-5 by offering both standalone and integrated lessons aligned with the Alberta Education curriculum and the IB PYP curriculum framework.
Teach Art classes within the Secondary program as required.
Develop and deliver engaging art curricula that address various art forms, techniques, and media to enhance students’ artistic skills.
Curriculum Development
Design and implement art programs that cater to diverse student populations, ensuring integration with inquiry-based learning.
Collaborate with other teachers to create interdisciplinary projects that enhance students' overall learning experiences.
Assessment and Evaluation
Assess student performance in art, providing constructive feedback while maintaining accurate records of student progress for effective communication with parents and students.
Classroom Environment
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom atmosphere that encourages creativity, experimentation, and self-expression.
Professional Development and Collaboration
Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with trends in art education and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching methodologies.
