The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed A Level History Teacher to join our Humanities team. This role involves teaching across A Level contributing to curriculum development, and supporting students to achieve excellent outcomes.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, student-centred teaching, supporting learners’ academic and pastoral needs, and working collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching, learning, and progression.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach History across A Level
Design and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that promote retention, achievement, and progression
Prepare and maintain schemes of work, syllabuses, learning materials, and assessment records
Provide regular feedback, tutorials, and academic guidance to students
Support student recruitment, admissions, enrolment, induction, and progress monitoring
Participate in qualification and examination processes, including liaison with awarding bodies
Contribute to curriculum development in line with national requirements and local needs
Work collaboratively within course teams and across the wider college
Maintain accurate records and contribute to self-assessment and quality review processes
Who You Are:
A degree with a History component
Successful teaching experience in A Level
Ability to teach effectively to learners of different ages and backgrounds
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to equality, diversity, safeguarding, and inclusive practice
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
