About this role

St John's College, part of Ambitious about Autism, provides specialist education for autistic young people, helping them develop the skills, confidence and independence to achieve their ambitions. We're looking for a Work Experience and Employability Coordinator to join our Employability team. In this rewarding role, you'll plan and deliver internal work experience programmes and support learners to access meaningful work placements with local employers. Working alongside the Employability Manager and wider college teams, you'll help create opportunities that enable learners to develop practical skills, increase their independence and move towards their future goals. What you'll be doingPlanning and delivering internal work experience sessions. Preparing personalised learning activities and resources. Coordinating external work experience placements. Developing positive relationships with local employers. Recording learner progress and contributing to annual reviews. Supporting the upkeep of work experience facilities, including the College Print Shop. About youWe're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and committed to improving outcomes for autistic young people. You'll have: GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or equivalent). Experience of working with autistic people and/or people with learning disabilities, or a willingness to develop your knowledge. Excellent communication and organisational skills. The ability to build strong working relationships with learners, colleagues and employers.
