About this role

At St John's College, part of Ambitious about Autism, we support autistic young people to develop independence, confidence and the skills they need for adulthood. We're looking for a Work Experience and Employability Coordinator to join our Employability team. You'll plan and deliver engaging internal work experience opportunities while helping learners access meaningful external placements that reflect their interests, strengths and aspirations. You'll work closely with colleagues across the college and with local employers to create positive experiences that prepare learners for life beyond education. What you'll be doingPlanning and delivering internal work experience sessions. Supporting learners to develop workplace skills and confidence. Coordinating external work experience opportunities alongside the Employability Manager. Building and maintaining relationships with local employers. Monitoring learner progress and contributing to reviews. Supporting the maintenance of our work experience environments, including the College Print Shop. About youYou'll be organised, proactive and passionate about helping autistic young people achieve their goals. You'll enjoy working collaboratively, building relationships and adapting your approach to meet individual learner needs. You'll also have: GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or equivalent). Experience of working with autistic people and/or people with learning disabilities, or a strong commitment to developing in this area. Excellent communication and organisational skills. The ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, learners and employers.
