About this role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Work Experience Adviser to join our College and work within the Futures team. Here you will support the delivery of a high-quality Work Experience programme across the College. Working closely with the Work-related Learning and Employability Manager, you will help coordinate meaningful work placements and activities that enable students to develop employability skills, gain workplace insights, and progress towards their chosen careers.
You will play a key role in supporting learners to access and succeed in work experience opportunities, ensuring placements are well-matched to their aspirations and areas of study. The role involves building and maintaining positive relationships with local employers and partners, as well as confidently engaging with students to prepare them for the workplace. You will be committed to empowering students to make informed decisions about their future pathways, including employment, further education, or training.
If successful, you would play a vital role in the College, which is graded as ‘outstanding’ in all categories by Ofsted. Our College excels in providing a broad, inclusive and high-quality education to all of our learners, which has resulted in some of the highest levels of progression to Higher Education in the sector. During the recent exams, students at Joseph Chamberlain College achieved outstanding exam results.
Our College is situated within easy reach of Birmingham City Centre, in a state-of-the-art building with superbly equipped classrooms and outstanding facilities. We were featured in the Parliamentary Review for best practice in further education for the second time and we have been awarded the Teachers’ Development Trust (TDT) Silver Award for our comprehensive package of innovative and high impact professional development.
If you are aspirational for all young people and want to play a part in shaping their futures, we would really like to hear from you.
