About this role

Wellbeing Mentors Part time – (15 – 22 hours, up to 3 days per week) Permanent, term-time only (39 weeks per year) Band 4 of SFCA Support Staff pay scale, point 11 - £28,634 pro rata per annum To start September 2026 Varndean College is a thriving and successful sixth form college with an excellent reputation for high outcomes, providing an inspirational student experience and adding value to all of our community. We are looking for driven and enthusiastic people to join our student support services as Wellbeing Mentors. You will have excellent communication and listening skills, experience of working with or caring for young people in an educational setting and a clear understanding of the particular needs of students aged 16 – 19. A qualification in counselling, guidance or youth work desirable. The College is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
