About this role

Channing School is seeking to appoint an outstanding and inspiring Visiting Teacher of Harp to join our thriving Music Department from September 2026. This self employed, part-time role offers the opportunity to teach talented and enthusiastic pupils aged 8โ€“18 within a vibrant and supportive musical community, helping students of all abilities develop both technical proficiency and a lifelong love of music. At Channing, our philosophy is simple: Music for all. We believe that music enriches every aspect of school life, fostering creativity, confidence, collaboration and personal expression. Pupils are encouraged to participate in music regardless of their level of experience, and many go on to achieve exceptional examination results, and continue their musical studies beyond school. More importantly, they develop a deep appreciation for music and the confidence to share their talents with others. The Music Department is a dynamic and flourishing environment, supported by excellent facilities. The successful candidate will be a highly skilled harpist and inspiring teacher, capable of supporting pupils from beginner level through to advanced study. They will play an important role within the wider musical life of the school, preparing pupils for performances and examinations, encouraging musical excellence, and contributing to the warm and inclusive culture of the department.
