Visiting Sports Coach (VSC) – Rugby Union
Denstone College is seeking a positive, energetic, and professional individual with a passion for developing young people to join our Sport department as a Visiting Sports Coach (VSC) for Rugby Union.
Please note: This is an independent contractor role.
The RoleAs a visiting contractor, you will be responsible for delivering structured coaching programmes across various age groups and abilities. You will utilize your strong knowledge of Rugby Union techniques, tactics, and training methodologies appropriate to age-grade rugby. A clear understanding and ability to coach safe practice in the tackle and ruck areas of the game is essential. You will be expected to analyse performance and give constructive feedback , while working collaboratively and managing pupils safely.
The Ideal ContractorThe successful candidate will have proven experience coaching Rugby Union within a school, academy, county, or club environment. You must possess an understanding of physical literacy and athletic development. Furthermore, an understanding of school sport in the independent sector, including fixtures, competitions, and expectations, is highly desirable.
You will be expected to demonstrate:

The ability to coach the technical and tactical aspects of Rugby.

An awareness of safeguarding principles and best practice with young people.

QualificationsTo be considered for this contractor position, you must have:
An England Rugby Coaching Award (Level 2) or equivalent.
A First Aid qualification, or a willingness to obtain one.
A willingness to complete the online RFU courses – Headcase and TackleSafe.
RemunerationThis role offers a competitive hourly rate of £20 to £25 per hour
