Visiting Singing Teacher

The Post Sutton Valence School is seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspirational Singing teacher to give individual lessons, taking pupils from beginner to achieving their full musical potential during their time at the School. This sometimes includes preparation for external exams such as with ABRSM. Children who enjoy their curriculum Music lessons are encouraged to take up additional individual music lessons provided by a group of Visiting Music Teachers. These VMTs provide lessons in a wide variety of instruments, including Voice. Following the promotion of the current post holder within Kent Music, this post is to teach individual lessons at the Prep School site and we are looking for an inspirational teacher to start at the beginning of November. The School has a fine tradition of music and provides a varied programme of performances. Candidates must be passionate about music and most importantly must have an excellent rapport with children. The post holder would ideally also lead the Junior Choir, a voluntary group for children in Years 3 and 4 who rehearse once per week and perform at different events. The current commitment is approximately one day per week, with additional support required occasionally and as necessary to prepare for events and exams.
