The role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Visiting Music Teacher of Viola/Violin and ensembles to join our vibrant Music Department. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented musician and educator to inspire pupils through high-quality instrumental teaching while contributing to the rich co-curricular musical life of the School. The successful candidate will teach individual and, where appropriate, small-group lessons, helping pupils from seven to eighteen with varying ability to develop their musical skills, confidence and enjoyment of music.
In addition to teaching, the Visiting Music Teacher will play an active role in supporting the wider musical programme. This may include directing one of the School’s ensembles, organising rehearsals, preparing pupils for performances and examinations, accompanying pupils where required, and contributing to concerts, open events and other musical activities throughout the year. The role offers the opportunity to work with motivated young musicians and to help shape a thriving culture of musical participation and achievement.
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished performer with experience of teaching children and young people, excellent communication and organisational skills, and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare. They will be able to inspire enthusiasm for music, work independently while contributing positively to the department, and demonstrate a willingness to support the School’s extensive programme of performances and events. This role would suit a passionate and dedicated music educator looking to make a meaningful contribution to a busy and successful school community.
