About this role
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Flute Teacher who will inspire a genuine love of music and nurture high levels of motivation and achievement among our students.
The successful candidate will have experience as both a teacher and performer at all levels and be willing to teach students from beginner level up to Grade 8 and beyond.
The successful applicant will be flexible, proactive, and well organised in their approach, demonstrating excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with young people across both our Junior and Senior Schools. This is an exciting time to join the Music Department at St Dunstan’s College. Music sits at the heart of College life, reflected in the 550+ individual lessons delivered each week and the wide range of over 30 ensembles and musical opportunities available to students.
There are 31 Visiting Music Teachers, supported in their work by the Head of Instrumental Studies. Recent performance opportunities for our students have included events at the Royal Festival Hall, Cadogan Hall, St John’s Smith Square, and an international tour to the Czech Republic.
Our annual Festival includes 10 musical events across a two-week period, and our Concert Band was recently awarded Gold at the UK Schools Music Festival. There are two days of flute teaching available. The role can be delivered by one person or shared between two. Our Visiting Music Teachers are engaged as workers on our panel at a rate of £46.80 per hour, with further benefits including pro-rata holiday pay and access to College facilities, such as complimentary lunch on nominated teaching days.
