Denstone College is an independent boarding and day school for pupils aged 4-18 set in 150 acres of rural Staffordshire. The school has over 750 pupils, with 100 being part of our on-site Prep School. Music at DenstoneMusic is thriving and incredibly important at Denstone College, where it is central to college life and is incredibly well resourced. The department is housed in a purpose-built facility, the Roper Music School, which features two generously sized classrooms, an IT Suite, a Recording Studio, an Ensemble Room, and nine Instrumental/Vocal teaching rooms. We currently have 20 specialist Visiting Music Teachers offering 'one-to-one' tuition on a wide variety of instruments.
The RoleWe are actively seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and collaborative Visiting Music Teacher to teach Cello to our dedicated students. Responsible to the Director of Music, this role is a fantastic opportunity to join us during exciting times for Music at Denstone College as we continue to encourage our entire school to get involved in music making.
Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesTeach pupils, ranging from complete beginners to those of a high standard, the technique and musicianship required to play an appropriate music instrument, offering encouragement support and guidance as necessary.
Organise timetables in conjunction with the music secretary via Involve Education, adhering to the College policy.
Complete weekly registers and lesson notes on Involve Education.
Prepare appropriate pupils for Music Exams.
Where appropriate, and following consultation from the Director of Music, organise, promote, rehearse and direct ensembles in extra-curricular activities.
