Do you have the energy, patience, and people skills to inspire young people as they prepare for adult life and work? At New Meaning Training (NMT), we support young people aged 16–25 who have found education challenging and need a more practical, relational, and supportive route forward. Many of our learners experience additional barriers such as autism, ADHD, anxiety, attachment difficulties, or social and emotional challenges. Confidence, trust, and motivation often need rebuilding before learning can really begin.
This role sits within our Supported Employment, Training and Personal Development (SETPD) programme. SETPD focuses on helping young people develop the personal, social, and employability skills they need to move towards work, further learning, and greater independence. It combines functional skills, life skills, and real-world learning, delivered in a highly supportive and flexible way.
We are looking for a SETPD Tutor (Sports Focus) who can engage learners through sport, movement, and physical activity. Many of our young people learn best through doing — using physical activity to build teamwork, emotional regulation, resilience, communication, and self-belief. Sport is the vehicle, not the end goal.
We welcome applications from experienced tutors or teachers and youth workers, sports mentors, support workers, coaches, or care professionals who are brilliant at building relationships and motivating young people.
If you haven’t formally tutored before, that’s okay. We provide training, mentoring, and support to help you develop the teaching, Functional Skills, and assessment aspects of the role.
This is a people first role. What matters most is your ability to connect with young people, set clear boundaries wit
