Trust SENDCo

Temporary Part time post (fte0.4) to commence January 2027 or sooner if possible

To be paid within the Main Pay Scale.

This post will be based across our East Devon schools of Farway, Broadhembury, Branscombe & Woodbury Salterton.

Across our primary schools are pupils with EHCPs, pupils on SEND support plans and those who receive in-school support for additional needs. This SENDCo role will be pivotal in leading this area in our schools, as well as improving outcomes for SEND learners.

We are looking for someone who has a strong level of organisation and enjoys communications with a wide range of stakeholders. You will, in turn, work with our supportive inclusion partner and benefit from opportunities to work with other schools across the trust. Candidates should be passionate about making a difference for SEND pupils in every classroom and across the curriculum. They should be able to work with subject leaders and school leaders in a proactive way to ensure that every child has the best learning experience.

What we are looking for in a candidate is:

• To be a qualified SENDCo or have relevant experience and are currently undertaking an NPQ SENCO qualification

• Have an excellent understanding of the SEND code of practice
• A commitment to developing your own practice through engagement in professional learning in order to develop and implement the most current teaching strategies.

• An understanding of how pupils learn and real commitment to provide and maintain high-quality indoor and outdoor learning opportunities.

• Excellent knowledge of inclusive practice, adaptive teaching and the graduated approach

• Recognition of our amazing children; nurturing, supporting and challenging them, meeting their needs to ensure they have independent learning behaviours that will see them prepared for their learning journey.
• A committed approach to the wider school community and engagement with them.

• A positive, solution focused and creative approach, combined with professional curiosity and high expectations for all

• Be supportive of a Christian ethos
