At Octavia House Schools, we have a passionate team delivering high-quality trauma-centred therapeutic education, supporting and building relationships with pupils who have adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and complex social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as other associated special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
We provide a specialist educational setting, we proactively welcome enquiries from both experienced mainstream and specialist colleagues, from varying disciplines, who would like to extend their skill base.
We have a unique & exciting opportunity for a Therapeutic Practitioner to make a genuine difference in our pupils' lives across our trauma-centred therapeutic primary school (KS1-KS2) in Great Baddow, Essex. Our offer centres on the integration of education and therapy, exposing the successful candidate to our integrated teaching and therapeutic offer, with opportunities to learn and develop under both disciplines.
We are seeking an experienced support professional to join our team on a full-time basis, from 1st September 2026.
Although we are a specialist setting, we proactively welcome applications from experienced mainstream colleagues, who would like to extend their skill base.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Adhering to the schools’ relationships-first policy, ethos and procedures, to support pupils’ positive behaviour, and improvements in behaviour over time.
● Creating and maintaining a well-managed, calm, secure and happy school where priority is given to the quality of the learning environment, ensuring it is welcoming, positive and uncluttered, and that the required resources and displays are of high quality.
● Fulfilling the role of ‘trusted adult’, taking responsibility for the pastoral care of pupils, which includes family liaison work and supporting pupils with their regulation.
