Salary: SFCA Support Pay Scale Point 3 – 5 pro rata £12,623 – £12,827 (Full Time Equivalent £24,759 – £25,159)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Performing Arts department, working as part of a dedicated team of staff in support of students studying Acting, Drama & Theatre, Dance, Music and Music performance. The Theatre Technician is key in providing technical, organisational and backstage support to ensure the department and it’s students are able to undertake learning and deliver high quality assessment and extra-curricular performances.
The successful candidate will be proactive and organised, with an interest in theatre and performance. Candidates should be able to complete physical work including movement of scenery, equipment and working at heights and willing to complete training in working at heights and manual handling.
Although experience is desirable, for the right candidate, technical training on lighting and sound board operation will be given. An interest in costume, prop and set design is desirable, the successful candidate will build, adapt and create costumes, props and sets within a wider team for each production and showcases.
Some work on weekends and during college holidays may be required to support external lettings, dates will be agreed in advance.
