The School
Established in 1894, Oporto British School is the longest-established British School in mainland Europe. It follows the English National Curriculum up to KS3, leading to Cambridge IGCSE, and then to the IB Diploma Programme. Our pupils have achieved outstanding IB Diploma results in recent years. The Position
We are seeking a talented and motivated temporary Teacher of Mathematics to join our thriving Secondary School from September 2026.
This is a part-time/full-time role teaching Mathematics across Key Stage 3, IGCSE and the IB Diploma Programme. The ability or desire to develop towards teaching IB Mathematics at Higher Level will be a strong advantage.
You will join a dynamic and supportive Mathematics department that enjoys a high profile within the school, with students consistently achieving results above UK and international benchmarks. The successful candidate will be committed to excellent teaching and learning, able to inspire students with a genuine enthusiasm for Mathematics, and willing to contribute fully to the wider life of the school.
The ideal candidate will:
Holds a relevant degree and teaching qualification
Have experience teaching Mathematics to school leaving age
Ideally have experience of IGCSE Mathematics and the IB Diploma Programme and its underpinning pedagogical principles
Demonstrate a student centred approached, strong
