About this role

We are seeking to appoint Graduate Teaching Assistants to deliver tuition to accelerate students’ educational development and academic skills. This could be alongside teaching staff in the classroom, in small groups or on a one-to-one basis or alternatively by linking with the Learning Support Department. The subject area and hours are as follows: · Maths – 29 hours per week (term-time only) It is essential that applicants are graduates, who have a real passion for their subject, a good level of academic knowledge, and an understanding of how their own specialism relates to other disciplines. They must also have clear and concise communication skills. The role would particularly suit those considering a career in education, either teaching or supporting learning, and will provide some relevant, paid experience. This post is temporary, to commence on 01st September 2026 to 9th July 2027. The Mathematics subject area consists of eight specialist Mathematics teachers, who form a strong and dedicated team. The Department is keen to embrace new initiatives, share ideas and support each other in improving teaching and learning. Studying A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics together is a very popular option with healthy numbers and truly delightful students. We are determined that every student achieves their full potential through a rigorous programme of study, support and challenge. The Department is housed in a modern suite of rooms in the Mary Kelly building and all rooms are fully resourced, equipped and linked to the College network with interactive whiteboards. The Department has worked hard to increase innovation in the use of ILT resources in lessons and are keen to embrace new ideas. Currently in Lower Sixth there are nine Maths sets (218 students) and two Further Maths sets (27 students).
