Teaching Assistant Location: Hawkley Hall High School, Carr Lane, Wigan, WN3 5NY Salary: Grade 3, SCP 3-5 (£14,634 - £15,098 actual salary) Hours: 25.5 hours per week, term time plus one week Start date: As soon as possible Are you passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential? The Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will: • Support students with SEND in and out of the classroom. • Promote inclusion, independence and engagement in learning. • Assist teachers with classroom management and lesson delivery. • Provide feedback to students, teachers and parents/carers. • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and supervision duties. What We’re Looking For Essential: • Experience working with children of relevant age or learning need. • GCSE grade 4 (grade C) or above in English and Maths. • Basic ICT skills and understanding of learning recourses. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. Desirable: • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. • Willingness to undertake further training and first aid. • Understanding of child development and relevant educational policies.
