About this role

The Dean Close Foundation is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support pupils within our primary school setting. This role is a fixed term contract for 12 months, Starting in September 2026, working 32.5 hours per week for 36 weeks per year. This role focuses particularly on supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), especially cognition and learning needs. You will play a key role in helping pupils access the curriculum, build confidence, and reach their full potential both academically and socially. You will be joining a collaborative team that places strong emphasis on pastoral care, inclusivity, and individual pupil development, working closely with experienced teachers and the SENCo. The successful candidate would have experience of working with children in a primary school or within a SEN setting and can demonstrate a good understanding of SEN needs.
