Teaching Assistant - Term Time Only

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to support the progress of our pupils on a fixed term contract – initially for 1 year – for 32.5 hours per week although a part time position may be considered.  You would work across the primary phase, including Early Years.  The role involves daily interaction with pupils and the class teacher, following lesson plans and preparing the learning environment.  You would be expected to use your own initiative to support the teaching staff and be able to work with small groups effectively.  You will also be expected to cover playground duties at both morning and lunch break times.

Preferably you will have some experience of working as a Teaching Assistant in another school setting, including working with children who have special educational needs.  Governors wish to appoint a suitably qualified candidate and therefore require a Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning or a Level 2 working towards a Level 3.  Your day would start at 8.30am and finish at 3.30pm with a half hour lunch break.  However, we do understand the need to be flexible at times so raise this within your application.
