Teaching Assistant Level 1 (SEN)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant Level 1 SEN to join our fantastic team at Prospect House Primary Specialist School These are fixed term posts for one academic year, working full time, 35 hours per week during term time only plus 5 INSET days. The starting salary is £22,004 and the full time equivalent is £25,583 (Grade 3). The start date for this role is 1st September 2026. We’re looking for: Someone who understands the role of a Teaching Assistant, collaborates effectively with classroom professionals, and has basic knowledge of child development and learning and excellent numeracy and literacy skills, qualified to level 2 or equivalent/higher. The right candidate will be committed to professional standards, continuously striving to maintain and enhance their knowledge and skills. A focus on teamwork and driving continuous improvement to support student success is required. This is a great opportunity to work in a Special Educational Needs School, working under the supervision of other teachers. You will be part of a team providing exceptional education for students. You will require tact and diplomacy in order to build excellent interpersonal relationships with all stakeholders including colleagues across the school and trust, parents and external agencies. Experience of working with children and/or young people with communication, severe, profound or complex learning difficulties is highly desirable.
