About this role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for Teaching Assistant Level 1 to join our fantastic team at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA) in Wythenshawe This is a permanent post working 30-35 hours per week, 8:30-16:10 or 08:30-15:10 (40 min break) Monday to Friday, term time only plus 5 INSET days. The starting salary is £18,567-£21,662 depending on hours and the full time equivalent is £25,185 Grade 2. Teaching Assistant is a rewarding role supporting students in a vibrant and inclusive secondary school environment. You will work under the direction of the classroom teachers and Headteachers to support pupils’ learning, wellbeing and personal development. As a Teaching Assistant Level 1, you will: Support access to learning for individuals, small groups and occasionally on a 1:1 basis Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and provide curricular administrative support Support teachers in managing behaviour in class and around school Provide feedback on pupil progress and maintain accurate records Respond to pupils’ pastoral, social, health and welfare needs, including minor first aid Help create a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment You will play a key role in building positive relationships with students, encouraging independence, and promoting high expectations for all. We’re looking for someone who: Has experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age Has a basic understanding of child development and learning Holds Level 2 qualifications (or equivalent/higher) in English and Maths Demonstrates excellent numeracy and literacy skills Can build strong, professional relationships with students, staff and parents Is committed to safeguarding, equality and inclusion Works effectively as part of a team and shows a willingness to learn You should be empathetic, resilient and proactive, with a genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed.
