Teaching Assistant

Abingdon House School (AHS) comprises the Prep School (located in South Kensington) and the Senior School (located in Marylebone). AHS caters for pupils aged 5-19 with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADD/ADHD, autistic spectrum condition, social communication difficulties and other associated needs. Job Description - General Teaching Assistants (TAs) will provide support to a class of up to twelve pupils. For this role the main purpose is to support the student or students to access the teaching and learning provided and to assist the Classroom Teacher and Therapists in the management of the pupils and the classroom. TAs work with both pastoral and academic staff to enhance and enrich the learning experience of the pupils. The context for this work is varied, encompassing both the classroom and educational experiences beyond the classroom. All TAs are encouraged and enabled to take part in additional training to become qualified in supporting the needs of learners with SpLDs.
