SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary Salary: £23,835 - £24,568 dependent on experience and qualifications Position Type: Permanent Full-Time Term Time Only Location: Eccles School Hours: 40 Hours per week Additional Information: Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8.30am - 4.30pm, Thursday 8.30am – 5pm, Friday 8.30am – 4pm Aurora Eccles School: We're currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our school. You will provide consistent, close 1:1 support for a small number of pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including those experiencing high levels of anxiety and requiring a highly individualised curriculum. The role involves building strong, trusting relationships to promote emotional security, supporting pupils to regulate their behaviour and engage in learning, and adapting activities to meet their specific needs and interests. You will work collaboratively with the teacher to implement personalised learning plans, use de-escalation strategies, and maintain a calm, structured environment that enables pupils to make progress both academically and socially. Flexibility and patience are essential to respond effectively to pupils. Part of the Aurora Group, Aurora Eccles School in Quidenham, Norwich provides day placements for students aged 11 to 16 years primarily with communication and interaction difficulties or specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Some may be on the autistic spectrum or have anxieties and difficulties that create barriers to learning. With small classes, a maximum of 10 students and a minimum of 3 staff per class you can focus on the needs of each student.
