Learning Support Assistant (Senior School Focus)Denstone College is an independent boarding and day school for pupils aged 4-18 set in rural Staffordshire. Are you passionate about education and dedicated to making a difference in students' lives? We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our dynamic Learning Support Team, based primarily in our Prep School.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing appropriate 'in-class' teaching assistant support across the timetable.
Supporting pupils with specific needs, including those identified within an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP).
Delivering 1:1 lessons and small group interventions as required.
Setting targets, monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on the progress of SEN pupils to the Head of Learning Support, parents, and staff.
Liaising and collaborating with class teachers to support pupils both in the classroom and during smaller sessions.
The successful candidates will be flexible, tenacious, and willing to go the 'extra mile' for our pupils. You should possess:
Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs.
Experience in planning, preparing, and delivering specific work to classes, as well as running intervention groups.
Good communication and IT skills, coupled with strong empathy and listening skills.
The ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.
An understanding of the teaching of phonics.
An understanding of the importance of safeguarding and communicating concerns effectively.
A first aid qualification is highly desired.
