We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant with specific responsibility for supporting pupils with physical disabilities, including the provision of personal and intimate care. This is a vital role in ensuring pupils are safe, supported, and able to access learning with dignity and confidence.
The successful candidate will work closely with subject teachers, the SEND team, and pastoral staff to:
Provide tailored support to pupils with physical disabilities, ensuring full access to the curriculum
Deliver personal and intimate care in a respectful, sensitive, and confidential manner, in line with agreed care plans and school policies
Promote pupils’ independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion
Support pupils individually and in small groups, both in and out of the classroom
Assist with mobility, positioning, and use of specialist equipment as required
Manage and support pupil behaviour to maintain a safe and constructive learning environment
Respond proactively to pupils’ needs, questions, and requests for help
Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting pupils with additional needs
