Teacher of Vocational Subjects.
The Falkland Islands Community School is a comprehensive school that provides secondary level education for all students (220) aged 11-16 in the Falkland Islands. It is our aim that all students are supported to reach their potential and leave as happy, curious and well-rounded individuals with the knowledge, skills and qualifications they need for the next stage in their lives.

Our school is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of Vocational Subjects who can be pro-active in determining suitable courses and curriculum for each cohort, and teach them accordingly. These may be BTEC courses, GCSE/IGCSE, or alternative qualifications. This role would suit somebody motivated by having the agency and expertise to provide accessible courses to our students which allow genuine alternatives to the core academic curriculum. These have recently included, for example, Enterprise, Personal Growth and Wellbeing, and Child Development.
The successful applicant will join a well-resourced school with a supportive staff team and small class sizes.
The improvement in standards at the school is on an upward trajectory. There is a strong focus on developing staff, with much CPD focused on teaching and learning, alongside clear rationales for the curriculum and reporting. The school achieves better results than the average for England.

• Is a graduate teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (recognisable in UK) who has completed their ECF induction and has three years experience teaching.
• Is focused on teaching and learning, helping students achieve high levels of progress in a positive and effective learning environment.
• Is able to contribute to pastoral life and extra curricular opportunities.
