The School Established in 1894, Oporto British School is the longest-established British School in mainland Europe. It follows the English National Curriculum up to KS3, leading to Cambridge IGCSE, and then to the IB Diploma Programme. Our pupils have achieved outstanding IB Diploma results in recent years. The Position We are seeking a talented and motivated Teacher of Spanish to join our thriving Secondary School starting in latest August and temporarily to cover a medical absence during the academic year 2026/2027. This is a part-time role in our Modern Foreign Languages Department. It will include the teaching of Spanish at Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5. At Key Stage 4 CIE IGCSE "Spanish as a foreign language" is taught, and at Key Stage 5 "Spanish B" and "Spanish ab initio", as part of the IB Diploma. Student achievement is above UK and international benchmarks, and the MFL departments have a strong profile across the school. You will be a highly effective and dynamic classroom teacher, with a genuine commitment to putting students first.
