Teacher of Science (Biology/Chemistry/Environmental Science)- KS3, IGCSE & IBDP

As the school continues to grow, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teacher of Science, with a specialism in Chemistry, Biology or Environmental Science, to join us at The British College of Andorra, in the heart of the Pyrenees mountains. We are looking for an inspirational teacher who believes that every child can enjoy success in the sciences and should pursue these subjects through to Year 13. They will have a strong and demonstrable commitment to practical experiments and investigations, in the laboratory and through field work. Their pedagogy will begin from an enquiry-based approach, connecting theory and practice through the scientific method. They will have a developed understanding of the difference between performance and learning, and a broad and knowledgable approach to assessment and feedback. They will readily integrate technology into teaching and learning. Candidate Specifications: Qualified Teacher Status - essential Relevant Bachelor’s degree - essential Specialism, and the ability to teach to pre-university level, in two from Chemistry, Biology or Environmental Science - essential Experience with the IGCSE & IB Sciences courses- desirable (experience with other secondary school science courses is acceptable as an alternative) Experience teaching English as an Additional Language students - desirable Willingness to contribute to the school's extra-curricular programme (e.g. outdoor activities, Duke of Edinburgh Award, sports, MUN)- desirable. This post is to teach science to students aged 11 -18 years old (Years 7-13/Grades 6-12) following the English National Curriculum, IGCSE Science course and IB Sciences courses.
