Teacher of Science (Biology)

Salary: Inner London UCL Pay Scale (MPS/UPS equivalent) + £900 academy allowance Required: September 2026 or January 2027 Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent Location: Swiss Cottage, London Borough of Camden, NW3 3AQ We are seeking to appoint a motivated and ambitious Teacher of Science to join our popular STEAM specialist Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and inspirational teacher who is passionate about Science, the successful candidate will teach KS3-KS5 Biology. Both experienced and Early Careers Teachers are encouraged to apply. The ability to teach at A level is an advantage but not essential. Please note that the Academy will consider additional responsibilities for the right candidate which may include curriculum development or support. This can be discussed further at interview if interested. Science teachers at UCL Academy plan and teach a curriculum which is both inspiring and engaging and includes elements of cutting edge research. We have 6 dedicated science labs, 2 open learning spaces and a lecture theatre. Our links with University College London gives us access to unrivalled University laboratories with specialist equipment. We aim to enrich our students with practical and real-life context self-directed activities. The iGEM competition, Global Experiment, CREST awards, Greenpower Electric Car' competition and Salter's chemistry festivals are encouraged, to extend the students beyond the curriculum and give them a chance to experience ‘genuine’ science.
