About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Physical Education across the full age range, from Nursery to S6, delivering engaging, inclusive, and challenging lessons that foster a lifelong love of sport, physical activity, and healthy living. You will play a key role in shaping pupils’ confidence, teamwork, and resilience through both curriculum PE and our extensive co‑curricular programme.
Key Responsibilities
Teach high‑quality PE lessons from Early Years through Senior School, adapting approaches to suit developmental stages and abilities.
Contribute to the planning and delivery of a broad and balanced PE curriculum aligned with Curriculum for Excellence and senior phase qualifications.
Lead the school’s hockey programme with confidence and expertise and ideally bring additional coaching experience in sports such as netball, cricket, rugby, athletics, tennis, swimming, sailing, or other co‑curricular activities that enrich the wider school offering.
Coach and lead teams across a range of sports, supporting weekend fixtures and school events.
Play an active role in the wider life of a busy boarding school, including pastoral responsibilities and involvement in activities beyond the classroom.
Promote a positive, inclusive sporting culture that encourages participation, performance, and personal growth.
About You
We are looking for someone who brings energy, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young people. You should have:
A recognised teaching qualification in Physical Education with GTCS registration.
Experience teaching across a range of ages (experience with Early Years is desirable but not essential).
Strong coaching skills in one or more major school sports.
