Teacher of PE. The Falkland Islands Community School is a comprehensive school that provides secondary level education for all students (220) aged 11-16 in the Falkland Islands. It is our aim that all students are supported to reach their potential and leave as happy, curious and well-rounded individuals with the knowledge, skills and qualifications they need for the next stage in their lives. Our students are at the centre of all that we do as a school. Our school is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of PE for students age 9 - 16 (years 5 to 11). This role would suit somebody who is flexible, solution-oriented, and able to work well in a team. The successful applicant will join a well-resourced state school with a supportive staff team and small class sizes. The improvement in standards at the school is on an upward trajectory. There is a strong focus on developing staff, with much CPD focused on teaching and learning, alongside clear rationales for the curriculum and reporting. The school achieves better results than the average for England. We are seeking to recruit a Teacher of PE who: • Is a graduate teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (recognisable in UK) who has completed their ECF induction and has three years experience teaching.• Is focused on teaching and learning, helping students achieve high levels of progress in a positive and effective learning environment.• Is able to contribute to pastoral life and extra curricular opportunities. • Can plan suitable curricular for students, adapting as needed, and able to be self-directed in determining how to best support students.• Can direct and support learning support staff as needed for the best outcomes for students.• Works well in a team and with other adults, and can utilise external support effectively.• Is flexible, positive, and motivated.
