Grade: MPS / UPS

For September 2026, we are seeking an outstanding Teacher of Music, who is enthusiastic, talented and ambitious and is willing to contribute to and learn from the best practice in the department. You will have a genuine passion for music and for education in its widest sense. The successful applicant will maintain the high professional and academic standards, remaining up to date in terms of subject knowledge and pedagogical techniques. You will have the ability to set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students.
You will help us drive change and create a happy and safe place for learning together and achieving ambitious objectives. You will be driven by a desire to serve our community and young people.

Key Responsibilities
·To teach for an allocated timetable each week
·To maintain up-to-date knowledge of specific subject or phase areas
·Use a variety of pedagogical strategies to deliver innovative and effective lessons at a pace and style that meets the needs of students of all abilities
·Have an up-to-date knowledge of national strategies to support effective teaching and learning.
·Plan sequences of lessons thoroughly and in line with the Academy’s curricular plans and schemes.
·To use adaptive teaching to support all learners needs
·To work proactively, in close partnership with peripatetic music teachers, to support pupil attendance and maximise the educational benefit of music tuition
·To work closely with the Head of Department to support the planning, coordination and successful delivery of school shows and performances
·Act as a Form Tutor to an assigned group of students. Promote the general progress and well-bei
